The Valley of the Moon

Celebrated by author Jack London as the Valley of the Moon, Sonoma Valley stretches from the historic town of Sonoma through Glen Ellen to Kenwood. Sonoma's tree-lined plaza, home to California's northernmost mission, is surrounded by tasting rooms, restaurants and inns.

Between the Mayacamas Mountains and Sonoma Mountain, the valley grows a remarkable range of wines: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the cooler south toward Carneros, and Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel on warmer slopes to the north.
