Sun-warmed valleys, green farming

Along US-101 in inland Mendocino County, the towns of Hopland and Ukiah anchor a warm, sunny stretch of wine country, with Redwood Valley and Potter Valley tucked into the hills to the north. Tasting rooms here are relaxed and personal.

Mendocino County has a long tradition of organic and sustainable grape growing. Warm days suit hearty reds such as Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, and some vineyards are planted with old vines that date back generations.
