Old vines, open doors

Between Sacramento and Stockton, Lodi is a farming town with deep winemaking roots and a famously friendly welcome. Its downtown has a cluster of tasting rooms and restaurants, while family wineries line the country roads beyond.

Lodi proudly calls itself the Zinfandel Capital of the World, and some of its vineyards are planted with gnarled vines well over a century old. Warm days and cooling Delta breezes support a wide range of varieties, and the region is a leader in sustainable farming through its Lodi Rules certification.
