Between Los Angeles and San Diego, Temecula Valley is Southern California's best-known wine region. Wineries line the rolling hills along Rancho California Road and De Portola Road, and Old Town Temecula adds dining and shopping.
Cooling afternoon breezes from the Pacific help balance the warm, sunny climate, favoring Mediterranean varieties from the Rhône, Italy and Spain. Sunrise hot-air balloon flights over the vineyards are a local favorite.
