Long before the suburbs, the Cucamonga Valley was one of California's major wine regions, with vast vineyards stretching across the plain below the San Gabriel Mountains. Only a fraction remains, but its story lives on.
Surviving old vineyards, including old-vine Zinfandel, are prized by winemakers today, and a few local wineries keep the tradition going.
