The Oakland Museum of California by Lake Merritt, BAMPFA and Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, Chabot's telescopes in the Oakland hills and the USS Hornet in Alameda. OMCA is free on first Sundays and BAMPFA's galleries on first Thursdays; children 12 and under are always free at OMCA.
